How to Install Our Memorials Yourself in a Few Simple Steps

IRON HERITAGE memorials are designed with sustainability in mind. We use raw steel, Corten steel, and stainless steel produced in the EU — primarily in Germany, Austria, and Sweden. For our “Bee Sanctuary” memorials, we incorporate reclaimed oak beams from old houses in Germany or France, conserving resources and protecting the environment.

Up to eight local businesses near our headquarters (within 1 to 11 miles) participate in crafting each memorial. Short transportation routes and close partnerships reduce environmental impact and support our community.

Our memorials are also lighter than traditional stone headstones (about 8 to 10 times lighter), minimizing transportation emissions. After 50 to 100 years, the steel can be fully recycled into new products.

We practice sustainability in our daily operations, including using home offices to reduce commuting. Finished memorials are shipped in fully recyclable cardboard packaging made from renewable resources.

For installations, we work with partners across the country to minimize travel. When possible, we coordinate multiple installations on a single trip to further reduce environmental impact.
